Rob Shrum is the Founder and CEO of Nexus Public Affairs, a state government affairs firm built on a simple idea: a client should get the judgment of a seasoned operator and verified intelligence behind every move, working alongside the team they already have.
That is possible because Rob does two things most government affairs professionals do not do together. He runs the advocacy, coalition, and stakeholder work that moves policy across the states, and he builds the custom intelligence tools that help a client's team stay ahead of more ground than it could otherwise cover. If the right tool for a client's situation does not exist, he builds it.
Before founding Nexus, Rob was Assistant Vice President at the state and local government relations firm MultiState, where he led external affairs and stakeholder engagement solutions. He previously served as Vice President of External Affairs at National Taxpayers Union and Director of Political Advocacy at CTIA, The Wireless Association, and held external relations roles at the American Legislative Exchange Council and the Tax Foundation.
